MARION -- A group of junior high students spent the day bringing a history project to life. Marion seventh graders took part in a living museum.

Students created displays of important people in our nations history. There were more than 200 displays featuring athletes, presidents, civil rights leaders and more.

The visitors were fourth graders in the district. They stopped at each station, pushed a button and the 7th graders came to life.

Organizers say this is an excellent learning opportunity for all the students.

"Aside from the educational benefit of this, just the socialization and interaction, being a leader showing the younger kids, hey, you got this to look forward too, we just felt like all around this was a good project," says English Teacher Jenna Fletcher.

Faculty say they plan to make this an annual event.
