Noted Author Jeff Speck will WALK and TALK about Paducah

Jeff Speck, author of Walkable City, is a city planner who advocates for smart growth and sustainable design. As the former director of design at the National Endowment for the Arts, he oversaw the Mayors' Institute on City Design, where he worked with dozens of American mayors on their most pressing city planning challenges. He leads a design practice in Washington, D.C.Return to event list.
Next week Jeff Speck will be walking the streets of Paducah to envision a way to transform our community, the way he has countless others around the nation, so that Paducah can create an environment that supports a vital economy, provides sustainable initiatives, and produces a healthier citizenry.
Speck will speak to the Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce on Thursday morning at 7:30 AM at the Convention Center. Member tickets are $15 and non-member tickets are $25. Contact the Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce for information.
On Thursday evening Speck will speak at Maiden Alley Cinema at 6:30 PM at a free public lecture. Seating is limited, so contact the Paducah Department of Planning at 270.444.8690 by noon August 7 to register.
