Live on the River Event & Benefit for the Special Olympics

The theme of this week’s event is Sounds of the South, featuring live music performed by country music artist Hayley Beth at 7 p.m., and gospel and Christian rock group Steel Dove Band at 8 p.m.Return to event list.
Other featured performances include the Paducah Tilghman Drum Line, the Paducah Quick-Step Cloggers, Center Stage Dance Studio and the Middle East Dancers.
The event will be held in conjunction with the Big Brown Truck Pull, an event that raises funds for the Special Olympics. The event will include a truck pull and lots of fun activities for the kids to enjoy. Red donation boxes will be distributed throughout the event area for attendees to make donations to the Special Olympics.
Other entertainment during the evening includes animal shows with Animal Tales, art demonstrations, Jim Stott Magic, Adrenaline Mobile Laser Tag, picture frame decoration with Better than Ever, face painting and Twisty Balloons. Attendees are invited to take some fun photos with William Carter Photography. All sorts of things to keep the whole family entertained this weekend!

During Live on the River, Broadway is closed inside of 3rd Street to the riverfront with entertainment along and around Broadway to the river. Broadway will close at 3 p.m. inside of 3rd Street. Water Street between Kentucky and Jefferson and a large portion of the downtown parking lot will close early in the day on Saturday for set up. All of the entertainment and carriage rides are free.
