Event Description

If you receive your electricity from a regional Electric Cooperative (or even if you do not), and you are interested in our Electric Cooperatives transitioning to renewable energy sources and robust efficiency/conservation measures, you are cordially invited to the kick off Town Hall Meeting of the Electric Cooperative Initiative of the Southern Illinois Solutions Project.

While members of Egyptian Electric Cooperative (www.eeca.coop), Southern Illinois Electric Cooperative (www.siec.org), South Eastern Illinois Electric Cooperative (www.seiec.com) and the Tri-County Electric Cooperative (www.tricountycoop.com) are especially encouraged to attend this public discussion and planning session, everyone is welcome.

The Solutions Project provides a roadmap for how each U.S. state can convert its energy system so that all electricity, transportation, heating/cooling, and industrial energy needs are met by wind, water, and solar power. The Solutions Project provides the first physically realistic estimate of what an all-renewables energy mix might look like at the local level.

The Southern Illinois Solutions Project formed from this event in order to support research and implementation of these renewable and efficiency solutions throughout the Southern Illinois region. The Electric Cooperative Initiative is one of these efforts. We welcome your attendance, we welcome your participation.
