The theme of this mini caregiver retreat is, “Let the breeze take you away!” Let us help you get rejuvenated so you will be better equipped to care for others!Return to event list.
The morning will be filled with great information and enlightening speakers. Ms. Carrie Giver, also known as Dr. Gynell Baccus, will be the Hostess and Stress Relief Coach for the day. Dr. Tom Kadela, Ph.D., will speak on managing caregiver stress. Next will be Rosemary O’Keefe, a columnist and inspirational speaker, then Marsha Nelson of Shawnee Alliance will inform guests what resources may be available for help.
Following a full morning of entertainment and learning, lunch will be provided by Crystal’s Catering. Next, guests will enjoy a relaxing afternoon of massages, manicures, makeovers, glamour shots and visiting! Best of all, everything is FREE! Men and women of all ages who are caring for a loved one are encouraged to attend.
Adult Day Services are being provided at no charge by Addus Adult Day Service, Marion, call 998-2032. Jackson County Adult Day Services, Carbondale, call 457-4151 and Williamson County Programs on Aging in Herrin, call 988-1585. Day Service attendees must be registered by July 17, 2014. You will be able to enjoy a full day of learning, fun and relaxation while your loved one is being cared for.
There is no charge for this event. This seminar is partially funded by the Older Americans Act through the Egyptian Area Agency on Aging. The event is provided by the Franklin/Williamson Healthy Communities Coalition Healthy Seniors Action Team.
