WSIL History

By WSIL Staff

WSIL-TV - This page is dedicated to the early days of WSIL-TV and the early days of television.  The station and the industry has come a long way since 1953. These videos and photos are from the archives of WSIL.

The images were originally archived on film by the late John Van Hoy of Carrier Mills, a cameraman and film editor for WSIL.  That film was later converted to video tape by WSIL engineer, Earl Flanigan then dubbed to DVD.

On this page you'll find clips and photos from some of the earliest shows to appear on WSIL along with promos for ABC shows that appeared on WSIL as well as some local news promotions. This is just a start, look for more historical video in the weeks and months ahead.
