Three Dead in I-64 Crash

JEFFERSON COUNTY -- The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office had identified the second driver involved in the fatal crash as Aaron Myers, 20, of Simpson, Illinois.
Myers was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. He has been cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and for violating a license restriction requiring corrective lenses.
The accident reconstruction division of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is investigating.
JEFFERSON COUNTY -- Three people are dead after a traffic crash on Interstate 64 in Jefferson County.
Authorities were called to mile marker 69 near the Woodlawn exit just before 2 a.m. Thursday.
Jefferson County Coroner Eddie Joe Marks tells News 3 that the driver of a Camaro had fallen asleep and pulled into the path of an eastbound SUV. The SUV then left the road and rolled several times, ejecting three people inside.
All three were pronounced dead at the scene. Marks has identified the victims as Luther J. Wyatt, 51, Roberta Jones, 57, and Delorise Jones, 52, all of Mt. Vernon.
The driver of the Camaro was taken by ambulance to a Mt. Vernon hospital. There's no word on his condition.
The accident is still under investigation.
