WILLIAMSON CO. -- A mother and son lost their home to a fire early Sunday.

Fire crews got the call to 12th Street in Johnston City around 2 a.m. on Sunday. They worked for more than three hours to contain the fire.

A mother and a child who live in the house made it out safely, but neighbor Brent Jackson says the the pair had to leave fast. They couldn't even grab their shoes.

"All she had were the clothes that were on her," said Jackson. I'm just glad they're okay. You can replace a house, but you can't replace humans."

Officials say the home is a total loss. There's no word on what caused the fire, but an investigation is in the works.
