Gallatin County Restaurant Fire

GALLATIN CO. -- A Gallatin County restaurant is closed after a Tuesday night fire.

Crews were called to the Red Onion in Equality around 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Equality Fire Chief Jim Frohock says the kitchen sustained "substantial" fire damage, while the rest of the restaurant had smoke and water damage.

Frohock says one firefighter was overcome by smoke at the scene and taken to Harrisburg hospital for treatment.

Firefighters were at the restaurant until around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. Eldorado Fire Department assisted.


GALLATIN CO. -- Authorities in Gallatin County are investigating a restaurant fire.

It happened at the Red Onion in Equality late Tuesday night.  There is no word what caused the fire to start.

A witness tells News 3 one firefighter was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
