Durbin Visits Harrisburg
HARRISBURG - U.S. Senator Dick Durbin made a stop in Harrisburg Saturday morning to survey damage from Wednesday's storm. Durbin was joined by State Senator Gary Forby and State Representative Brandon Phelps. They took a walking tour through damaged neighborhoods. Durbin says this was the most devastating tornado he's ever seen in the state, and is impressed by the way the community has come together.
"This has been a total community response from state government. Local agencies and just volunteers by the hundreds have poured in here to help out," says Senator Durbin.
Durbin says FEMA will arrive in Harrisburg on Monday. He expects the area to be designated as federal disaster zone.
