Limited Funding Available for Summer Energy Assistance

Crosswalk Community Action Agency of West Frankfort, which administers the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program in Franklin, Jefferson and Williamson Counties, is announcing that the State of Illinois is releasing a VERY LIMITED amount of funding for a short/quick Summer Energy Assistance Program. Appointments for the Summer Energy Assistance Program (SEAP) will be distributed on Monday, July 7, 2014 starting at 7am. Since the availability of funding is very limited, assistance will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis.Return to event list.
Assistance will include utility payments for electric service, ONLY and you must be the customer of record at your electric company. There are no funds available for dis-connected households. The LIHEAP Summer Energy Assistance Program is targeted to "at-risk households" (at least one resident age 60 or older, or at least one resident drawing disability income, or at least one resident 5 years of age or younger, or at least one resident with a current physician documented medical condition that can be improved by air conditioning, such as asthma, emphysema, coronary disease or immediate terminal illness.
To qualify, these at risk households must also meet income limitations.
