This 5K is to honor my 40 year old husband, who died in 2012 from sepsis. It is to raise awareness for sepsis so more people survive.
There are more than 1.6 million cases of sepsis every year and survivors often face long-term effects post-sepsis, including amputations, anxiety, memory loss, chronic pain and fatigue, and more. Almost 60% of sepsis survivors experience worsened cognitive (mental) and/or physical function.
Attendees will receive a T-shirt and awards will be given out for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners. There will also be a silent auction and bake sale. All proceeds will benefit Sepsis Alliance.
Tickets can be purchased online.
