"Defying people's expectations of quilts and quilting as an art form is a signature of Caryl Fallert-Gentry's work; her quilts are often mistaken for paintings or even drawings, thanks to the sharp, lifelike colors that seem to pop from the surface," says Frank Bennett, CEO of the National Quilt Museum.
Caryl Bryer Fallert-Gentry has spent her career as a fiber artist, developing intricate designs in her art quilts that have won her international acclaim. Her latest exhibit celebrates both her achievements and reminds us all of how far quilting has come in the last 30 years. Caryl fuses classic and modern techniques into her quilts, using computer software to help generate sketches that are later transformed into richly colored art quilts.
The National Quilt Musuem is the world's largest and most prestigious museum devoted to quilts and fiber artists.
