The story is a quick burning fuse ignited by the mystery of long hidden secrets. A rodeo cowboy tracks down his old flame hiding in a Mojave Desert motel, and tries to restart their destructive relationship. The cowboy wants to own the girl like a quit claim on a piece of land, but has a history of abandoning her to loneliness. The girl has fiery passion for the cowboy, but knows he is unreliable. The lovers, bound by a pact made in high school, wrestle with need, anger, fear, and desire.
