Shawnee National Forest to Host Critter Night

Location: Lincoln Memorial Picnic Grounds, Jonesboro, IL
The Shawnee National Forest and partners will present “Critter Night,” a free family event held annually at the Lincoln Memorial Picnic Grounds. Participants will learn about the nocturnal animals of Illinois, including bats, coyotes and opossums, through crafts, activities and games. The event will feature special guest Bev Shofstall of Free Again Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, who will be doing a live owl presentation at 5 p.m. All ages are welcome, so make plans to be a part as attendees are sure to enjoy fun in the cool outdoors! Please dress for the weather and bring a lawn chair or blanket to enjoy the Free Again Wildlife Rehab Center’s program.
