Jackson County Health Department Provides Flu Vaccines

Jackson County Health Department provides flu vaccine on a walk-in basis now through November 8th, 2013 from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and on Thursdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. In addition to the walk-in clinics, people can get their flu vaccine at health department clinics offered in the community (See table below.)Return to event list.
State employees can go to any clinic site for their vaccine, however, the health department will be at the SIU Student Recreation Center on October 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Flu vaccination is free for anyone with Medicare B, Medicaid, and State employees, upon presentation of their insurance cards. The health department also accepts most insurances including: Health Link, Health Alliance, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Coventry, and Humana (please bring your insurance card). Without insurance coverage for the flu vaccine, the charge is $35 and can be paid by cash or check (debit or credit cards accepted only at the health department location). Adult pneumonia vaccine is also available for $90 and covered by many insurance plans.

*Makanda Community Center - Wednesday, October 23, 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
*Ava Buck Bower Park Community Building - Friday, October 25, 8:30 a.m. - Noon
*Murphysboro American Legion - Friday, October 25, 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
