American Heart Association's Heart Walk

The annual event raises funds to fight heart disease and stroke. This is a non-competitive, two-mile walk that includes teams of employees from local companies, groups and families. The event also honors survivors of heart disease, stroke, bypass surgery, heart procedures and even the youngest congenital heart defect survivors.Return to event list.
There will be fun activities for walk participants. Booth activities will be between 8 and 9:30am and include screenings, health education, giveaways, survivor and top fundraiser recognition and much more.
A new activity is the torches ceremony. Between 8 and 9:30am, participants can purchase a torch from the John A. Logan College torch decorating station for $10 that will be used during the special torch lighting ceremony. You can also nominate a person for a Lifestyle Change Award. To nominate a friend, family member or co-worker, visit the website and click on the nomination button on the homepage of the Walk. Nominations are due by Monday, Sept. 30.
No preregistration is required for the Walks and the event is free.
