Paducah Symphony Orchestra Opener - Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto

The Paducah Symphony Orchestra will open its 2013-2014 season with Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concert and will feature guest violinist Ilya Kaler.Return to event list.
One of the most sought-after teachers in the world, Mr. Kaler has been a Professor of Violin at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, and at the Indiana University School of Music in Bloomington. He is currently a Professor of Violin at the DePaul University School of Music in Chicago. He regularly serves as a jury member at international violin competitions throughout the world.
As always, the PSO is delighted to welcome back its Artistic Director and Conductor, Raffaele Ponti. Anyone attending this season opener will hear not only Tchaikovsky’s famous Violin Concerto but the suspenseful El amor brujo: Ritual Fire Dance by Manuel de Falla and beautiful Symphonic Dances by Sergei Rachmaninoff. These pieces will have audiences on the edge of their chairs with excitement and anticipation.
