Local Agencies are Funded to Assist with Health Insurance Marketplace Outreach and Enrollment

Jackson County Health Department (JCHD) is a part of Illinois Association of Public Health Administrators which was selected to participate in the outreach and enrollment effort for Affordable Care Act (ACA). They will be conducting outreach, providing education and facilitating enrollment in the Illinois Health Insurance Marketplace. Enrollment in the marketplace will begin on October 1, 2013, with coverage beginning January 1, 2014.Return to event list.
The Marketplace will be accessed through a user-friendly website where individuals, families and small businesses will be able to compare health care policies and premiums and purchase comprehensive health coverage. Those with incomes between 138% and 400% of the federal poverty level will receive subsidies on a sliding scale if they obtain coverage through the Marketplace (between $32,499 and $94,200 for families of four). Those under 138% of federal poverty could be eligible for Medicaid. Medicaid eligibility was recently expanded for adults without children in their household.
