Plant Photography Free Workshop

Participants will receive classroom instruction and then hands-on practice in the greenhouse.
The workshop will be presented by Dr. Daniel Nickrent, a professor of botany in the Department of Plant Biology at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He is part of a project, PhytoImages (http://www.phytoimages.siu.edu/), which has the goal to photographically document the flora of the world. Currently, the website contains over 67,000 images of over 13,000 species. Dr. Nickrent is very skilled in plant photography for identification and documentation, and routinely teaches others these skills. During this workshop, participants will learn how to take macro photographs.
This event is free and open to the public.
