World Labyrinth Day
Date(s) & Time(s)::
May 4, 2013 at 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM
Location: Labyrinth Peace Garden, 913 S Illinois Ave. (just north of Gaia House), Carbondale, IL
Saturday, May 4th, is World Labyrinth Day, a day designated to bring people from all over the world together to walk labyrinths. A labyrinth may look like a maze, but it has no dead ends. It is a winding path, found in various forms in religious traditions around the world. It is sometimes used for walking meditation, to pray, or as a way to bring peace of mind or inspiration. People worldwide are encouraged to walk a labyrinth on May 4th at 1 pm in every time zone.Return to event list.
We invite you to use the labyrinth at the Labyrinth Peace Garden on May 4, or sometime soon.
To find out more about the history of the labyrinth and its use, please visit the Labyrinth Peace Garden website or obtain a brochure at the site. For more information about the Labyrinth Peace Garden Restoration Project, to volunteer, or to donate, please contact Bob Swenson. There are more Labyrinth Peace Garden renovations, clean-up, and planting activities to come, so please visit often and have a peaceful walk.
