Public Workshop provides information on Woodlands Management Plans. Up-to-date Forest Management Plans are a necessity for Illinois landowners who want to keep their woods productive and healthy and retain a lower property tax rate for their wooded rural lands. “Responding to the Unexpected: A Goods from your Woods Workshop” can inform landowners about updating or creating a forest management plan or Stewardship Plan to respond to changes from natural events, such as tornadoes, ice storms, fires, or invasive species.Return to event list.
It will be held at Giant City Lodge. The public is invited to attend the workshop for a fee of $5 per person. The workshop begins at 9:30 am and will conclude in the early afternoon after a field trip to Touch of Nature. Preregistration is required through the Murphysboro University of Illinois Extension Service before May 15, 2013. Spaces may be reserved by calling or through their website.
Participants may elect to join in a family style chicken dinner at the Giant City Lodge Dining Room. Lunch costs are paid to Giant City Lodge and are not included in registration.
