Little Egypt Arts Association (LEAA) has been awarded a $1000 FY13 Community Arts Access Grant via the Southern Arts Fund, a program of Carbondale Community Arts. The Grant Project is a series of Art Workshops to be offered at no cost to pre-registered students on Saturdays during the summer months.Return to event list.
Each workshop will offer a different medium and technique for creative expression. Students will complete one take home project. Instructors are experienced artisans/teachers who will receive stipends through the Grant. To receive additional information and to register call: 998-8530 or Betty at 997-3757.
Also, LEAA has 2 exhibits on the walls of the Art Centre’s downstairs gallery during the month of April. The north wall show “Think Pink”, will depict art and photos with a “pink”, or breast cancer (and other cancers) awareness theme. The “Needles, Pins, Hook and Spin” exhibit highlights fiber pieces done by LEAA members in honor of quilt shows in Paducah and other towns during the month of April. This exhibit will feature art quilts, functional fiber pieces, hooked rugs, and other fiber art. Both shows will come down April 30, and will be available for viewing during regular Arts Centre open hours.
