“Sweethearts of the Saddle” Gala Benefit Event

The non-profit organization Specialized Equine Services and Therapeutic Riding, in conjunction with Giant City Stables, hosted by Darlene Lutchka, M.D. and Aaron Workman, M.D., with special guest M.C. Mario Moccia, will hold a $100 a seat, black-tie event that includes dinner, dancing, a live and silent auction and a special guest appearance. The gala begins at 6:30 p.m. with cocktail hour, followed by dinner that includes a choice of prime rib, chicken cordon bleu, peppercorn bacon-wrapped pork chop or vegetable lasagna, plus salad and dessert. Cocktail hour music provided by violinist Ken Wollberg and the Heart Strings. The Venturis band will provide after dinner entertainment. All proceeds will benefit the therapeutic riding program. Equine therapy is a widely used tool for the physically disabled, as well as for treating a wide variety of emotional, cognitive and social disorders. The treatment has been effective for individuals with ADD, ADHD, autism, cerebral palsy, MS, brain injuries, post-traumatic stress disorder and many other disabilities.Return to event list.
Giant City Stables has been providing equine therapy since 1995 with a certified riding instructor who works with clients one-on-one and in small groups. Therapeutic riding is offered to clients five an older and
lessons are held weekly for multi-week semesters.
