Cobden, IL Hosts the Fourth Annual "Christmas in the Village"

Christmas bazaars and open houses highlight a variety of events that climax with the lighting of a Christmas Tree in the Village's downtown park. Bazaars offering Christmas decorations, gifts, crafts and homemade jams and baked goods are being held at the Union County Museum, The Apostolic Lighthouse Church and St. Joseph Church which is also serving a variety of homemade soups for lunch. The Museum and St. Joseph opens at 8am, the Lighthouse Church at 8:30am. The Old Feed Store on Appleknocker Drive is opening from 9am to 4:30pm and will host a variety of events including free holiday treats and coffee. A 5K run/walk is scheduled to depart at 10am. Other highlights include strolling carolers, horse-drawn surrey rides, hay rides and a live nativity scene.
Santa and his helpers are walking from the Old Feed Store to the downtown park at 5pm to light the Village's Christmas Tree to end the day's activities.
