Second Annual "Christmas in Carterville"

Free admission charge, as well as free cookies and hot chocolate, photo opportunity with Santa, letters to Santa, and more. This year, donation opportunities will be in place to benefit GumDrops NFP and Carterville Heritage & Preservation Foundation. Tri-C non-profit organizations are also encouraged to utilize this opportunity as a fund-raiser for their own efforts by serving as food or gift vendors. In addition to a special candlelight tree-lighting ceremony, “Christmas In Carterville” will include horse and carriage rides, strolling carolers, special musical performances, and food and beverages along the way. Children will keep busy with activities such as “Letters To Santa”Return to event list.
where children will write letters to Santa at Malone’s Day Care and mail them in “Santa’s Post Office” at Rich’s Barber Shop as well as “Photos With Santa” where they will meet Santa at Heckel’s. They can also enjoy face painting offered at Hair Etc. A “Candy Land - Gum Drop.” Trail will lead attendees to a “Festival of Trees” and ornament making at Grand Avenue Baptist Church’s Family Life Center. New for this year, attendees can view entries to the Gingerbread House Contest on display at Tri-C Pharmacy. Organizations and other groups will show-off their decorating skills with a Window Decorating Contest in participating merchants windows. Christmas In Carterville is presented by the City of Carterville, with support from sponsors including Bank of Herrin, Banterra Bank, Carterville Chamber of Commerce, Old National Bank, Williamson County Tourism Bureau and WSIL-TV Channel 3.
