April 24: Energy in America Gas and Coal presented by James Lindsey (Energy Plus Services), an authority on energy, and its development and can give us insight in the positive and negative aspects of its influence on our future.Return to event list.
May 12: Life on the Illinois Frontier - demonstrations, wagon rides, frontier stories, etc. Alternate date is May 26.
May 15: Historical Society Board Meeting.
May 22: Flintlock guns displayed/The 1777 Miilitary rifle from France and not commonly known features.
June 26: The Sixth Illinois Cavalry was mostly Southern and Central Illinois men who fought first in Nashville and then further south. There was a book written about them (Butternut Guerillas) and Hollywood made a movie of them starring John Wayne.
