WSIL-- Week 5 of high school football for most means the second week of conference play, and sometimes, the potential to secure a playoff spot early on in the season.. In the Black Diamond though, Week 5 is known as Rivalry Week.

MURRAY, KY -- The SIU Salukis opened the 2018 football season doing something they didn't all of 2017--score defensively. The 2018 version of the Dawgs' defense forced six turnovers and scored three touchdowns to lead SIU to a 49-10 beating of Murray State.

SIU Women's hoops pulls away from SEMO

CAPE GIRARDEAU-- The SIU women's basketball team got off to a 13-0 start against SEMO and weathered several runs by the Redhawks, in the 87-72 win.  Five players scored in double figures for the Salukis, led by RIshonda Napier's 21 points.  SIU won their third straight game and improves to (7-4) on the season.
